We’re proud to announce our Scholarship Winner and Honorable Mentions for the 2015 CAFFA Scholarship Contest. We received many heartfelt stories from worthy young adult adoptees, so the choice was very tough. Essays were scored and discussed based on the writer’s ability to address the essay question (How have adoption and/or foster care touched/shaped your life?) and overall impact.
The Winner of the $2,000 scholarship was Mr. Alex Crouch, who is attending the University of Mississippi. You can read his essay about the impact of adoption on his life here: alex-crouch-essay.
Also, the three Honorable Mentions (each receiving $250 scholarships) were awarded to Eric Daugerdas, Kelly Zahller, and Mirae Deimel.
We hope all entrants will continue to participate in the Adoption Community in the future – there are many ways, big and small, to do so. Whether it’s your choice of careers, mentoring younger members of the community, volunteering for an adoption or service related organization, you can make a difference! You certainly are already on that path!
